The Kisii boda boda chairperson has distanced himself from the recently witnessed hooliganism between the motorbike operators and the Kisii county askaris.

Speaking in his office on Tuesday, the chairman Mike Mose, heaped all the blame on some of the county officers who are taking guard along Poster road, leading to the county executive offices of beating the boda boda operators whenever they breach traffic rules, instead of engaging them soberly and according to the traffic laws.

The chairman however did not entirely exonerate his members, as he disclosed that some of their members are at times naughty and unlawful, but only when they have been wrongly treated.

Mose promised to work hard in ensuring that all is achieved in bringing sanity back and shape the boda boda industry which has for long been condemned for myriads of evils especially insecurity and poor public relations between them and their clients especially late hours.

He also promised to introduce more policies which are meant to develop the youth in financial management and encourage them to join Saccos which will empower them.

He said that they are mostly targeting those who have recently joined the industry as a way of boosting their confidence in expressing touchy and pertinent issues in regard to their line of duty.

He said that they are organizing big meeting which is set to take place on Wednesday between the boda boda operators and the county government of Kisii’s administrative arm in charge of security and that of public matters, to seek amicable ways in solving matters affecting them.
