A bodaboda operator was shot dead and two of his colleagues injured by armed gangsters on the outskirts of Suneka town on Monday evening.

Dennis Mochere, 21, was shot dead at Nyamaya junction at around 8pm as he and his colleagues tried to confront robbers who were attacking and robbing people indiscriminately.

Confirming the incident Kerina police post officer, David Cheruiyot said that the four robbers who were armed with an AK 47 rifle and knives also injured two of his colleagues.

He said the injured were rushed to Iyabe hospital and are in stable condition.

“Investigations are ongoing and we will soon apprehend these robbers who are causing panic in this peaceful town. This is an isolated case of robbery and we will ensure that the culprits are brought to book,” said the officer.

He appealed to members of the public to report any related cases to the police and desist from confronting armed robbers.

“When the police arrived at the scene of crime Dennis had already succumbed to injuries and his colleagues and been stabbed using knives by the gang of robbers who had fled away,” he added
