Bodaboda Operators in Kisii County have been warned against carrying more than one customer in an effort to prevent frequent motorcycle-related accidents.

Addressing the Bodaboda operators in Kisii town on Thursday, a National Transport and safety Authority (TSA) official in Nyanza region, Ezekiel Koech noted that many Bodaboda operators involved in accidents have been carrying more than the lawful one customer.

“It not good to carry two or three customers. We are going to use the existing traffic rules to ensure safety prevails," he said.

Koech also advised bodaboda operators to always follow all other traffic rules as a way of avoiding road accidents.

He assured them that there would be no harassment but stressed that anyone found flouting the rules would be arrested and prosecuted.

“Remember when you are carrying a customer, that is the life of somebody you are holding and you get paid once you drop your customer where they wanted," he added.
