Bodaboda operators in Chulaimbo have asked the county government to establish a motorcycle riding training school.
The commercial motorcycle riders said establishing the school will ensure all the riders get genuine driving licences.
They also said the training will help motorcyclists learn traffic laws and thus reduce road accidents.
According to the bodaboda operators, many accidents caused by the riders is as a result ignorance to traffic rules.
"Bodaboda jobs are the ones available most of the time, and the county government should do something by ensuring we have training facilities near here," Nicholas Erachi, the chairperson of the riders in Chulaimbo.
Speaking to this reporter on Monday, the operators unanimously agreed that most accidents caused on roads is because of lack of training for them.
"If the county government knows that bodaboda accidents are as a result of lack of professional training, then it should set up training facilities at the sub-county level to solve this problem," said Chris Omutola, a bodaboda rider who has been in the bodaboda business for the last five years.
"We know the government can help, it should therefore come to our rescue and establish training facilities," said Paul Okutoyi another rider.
