Bogichora area residents have been urged to go for regular cancer check ups.
According to a senior medical Officer at Bosiango Hospital Dr. Evans Nyatigo, currently cancer has claimed more lives than expected due to negligence and late discovery of the deadly disease.
Speaking during an interview from his office earlier on Monday, he said that early diagnosis of the disease saves lives and every person should be aware of the simple cancer symptoms.
“In the recent times treating cancer has become a tough since most of the patients cannot pay the regular fees needed for treatment nor can they afford the prices of medication that reduces the diseases” said Nyatigo
He added that residents should take advantage of government campaigns that are currently ongoing to encourage and remind the public to make sure that they get to get checked so that treatment can be done at its early stages.
Nyatigo also said that everyone is at risk of getting cancer and that they should additionally consider watching their eating habits.
