Bonchari Member of Parliament Zebedeo Opore has called upon President Uhuru Kenyatta to take immediate action to end the ongoing teachers’ strike.
Addressing residents during a function in his constituency early Monday morning, the legislator added that the ongoing strike not only affects the school going pupils, but also lowers the nation’s development agendas.
Opore said the nationwide strike should not be allowed to take another week, given the suffering students are going through and yet there are some preparing for their end year exams.
He called upon all teachers’ unions to ensure that they get in terms with their employer and the government.
The MP further urged school going students in his constituency to continue revising for their exams as the teachers’ issue is being solved.
“I am sure the president will have a discussion with his deputy so that they can find a long lasting solution that will see the teachers’ strike solved,” said Opore
The MP also asked teachers to cooperate with their employer so that they can get a long lasting solution.
