Kenya National Union of Teachers Wareng Branch John Bor has called on teachers across the country to start a door to door campaign to 'remove' the Jubilee government from power for blocking their salary increment.
Speaking in Eldoret town on Monday, Bor said it is unfortunate that every regime since independence has been ignoring teachers and subjecting them to much suffering.
“It is time we as teachers sit down and look for our own presidential candidate to whom when elected will represent us instead of always voting for people who give us false promises, we have the numbers it’s time we show Jubilee government the door since it does not have the teachers' problems at heart,” he said.
He reiterated that president Uhuru Kenyatta had failed in his leadership by failing to adhere to the court's ruling on teachers’ salary increment, yet he was a beneficiary of the Supreme Court that took him to office.
"We are really disappointed with our beloved president for failing us, and we urge him to obey the court order since by failing to do so will depict him as a bad leader who does not support democracy, and as teachers we won’t allow such, that why we need to elect our own," he added.
