A man was arraigned before a Nakuru Court on Tuesday to answer to charges of housebreaking.

Fred Ndika was accused of  breaking into the house of Elizabeth Njoki and stealing a television set and DVD player, all worth Sh8,500 on the night of September 16, at Rhonda Estate within Nakuru.

It’s alleged that Ndika broke into the house while Njoki was still at work.

He was arrested and held at the Kaptembwa Police Station on the morning of September 17, after Njoki was informed that the suspect was allegedly spotted selling the electronics.

Appearing before Chief Magistrate Joel Ng'eno, Ndika pleaded not guilty and was released on a Sh10,000 cash bail.

He however told the court that he wanted to have the matter settled out of court. Ng’eno advised him to pay the cash bail and trace the complainant.

The case will be heard on November 10.
