Hundreds of parents from Kitutu Masaba constituency have accused the area MP for alleged delaying of bursary allocation for secondary school in the region.

Speaking on Tuesday at Nyabiosi secondary school during a fundraising ceremony, they said the money had been delayed hence locking some students out of end term exams since they solely depend on the same.

According to them, MP Timothy Bosire had focused on particular schools hence discriminating against many others from perceived opposition areas.

“In fact this has been a bad year for education in Kitutu Masaba. Many of our institutions haven’t received money for bursary as it is a routine. Most of them have been locked out of exams hence making it quite complicated for us parents. We really want to know why a section of schools have been awarded the bursaries,” said Migiro Oiko on behalf of the parents.

They called for a dialogue with the ODM legislator and threatened to hold demonstrations against his leadership which they termed as ‘objectively void’.

“We demand that he addresses us urgently as a team. It is his mandate to hold a dialogue with us or we show him our magic on the streets. We want leadership that is objective,” he said.

Aspiring MP Victor Swanya challenged Bosire to explain the logic behind the allocation of Sh4 million to Gekano Boys despite the low enrollment in the institution.

“I want him (Bosire) to explain why he gave Sh4 million to a school where he was once a student and whose enrollment is wanting. That is discriminatory and he should come on board and explain the logic behind it,” he said.
