More than 50 businesses have been closed down by the Nakuru County government public health officials in Kabati-ini Centre in Bahati cub-County due to lack of toilets.

Speaking on Tuesday in Nakuru town, Nakuru County CeC Samuel King'ori said that those operating businesses without toilets would be dealt with accordingly.

However, the businessmen led by Kabati-ini Ward MCA Paul Thuo, have asked the county government to give them more time to look for alternative sites to construct the toilets claimimg that all the available land for the purpose has been grabbed.

"I have talked to the sub-county administrator and the county land CeC because all the land has been grabbed. Most public land in Kabatini has been grabbed including a stage and a dumpsite," said Thuo.

Susan Wangari, one of the business owners who was forced to close down her business said she doesn't know what to do as the business is her only source of income.

"Who do we belong to? Is there somebody who can hear and understand our plight?" said John Mwaura, a business owner.
