Nyamache traders have praised the county government of Kisii for installing flood lights at their market place.
The project targeting to light up all major markets in Kisii County has seen installation of 'Mulika Mwizi' mast-like solar and electricity powered floodlights across the county, with some still under installation.
Mr Peter Onsare, a businessman at Nyamache market said the lights have ensured a secure business environment and has led to them to extend their business hours.
"Eight years ago, we could close business as early as 7pm, we now operate up to 11pm, comfortably," he said.
Mr Onsare urged county government to install more solar powered lights at the market place which also hosts Nyamache Tea Factory.
Near the market there are also administration offices and a health centre.
Nyamache centre is expected to even grow bigger with the expected establishment of Kenya Medical Training College by the government.
