Manga sub county commissioner Douglas Mutai has warned Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam candidates against buying fake KCSE papers.

Mr Mutai appealed to members of the public to be vigilant during the ongoing national exams and report any forms of irregularities.

Speaking during the Mashujaa day celebrations at Nyamira Uhuru Gardens, Mr Mutai said that some rogue individuals were already banking on the exercise to make a kill by pretending to be selling exam leakage to candidates.

He said that on Monday, a suspect believed to be a University student from Irianyi village in Manga sub county, Nyamira County was allegedly caught selling KCSE examination papers to students at a cost of Sh5000.

Douglas Nyakundi Ongoro was cornered by security officers acting on a tip off from students at a cyber cafe in Kemera market in Manga sub county.

He was lured and printed some of the allegedly leaked exam papers, arrested and taken to Nyamira police station waiting to be arraigned in court on Wednesday.

Mr Mutai said that national exams were very important and warned against interfering with the exercise.
