Speaking on Wednesday during the public forum of chairpersons for constitution independent commissions, Nyachae said that members of parliament who as still advocating for CDF are just doing it for their own selfish reasons.

"The reason why CDF was scrapped was because devolution replaced its role of bringing resources to 'Wanjiku' at the grassroots level, and if CDF will continue being in existence, it will be contrary to the constitution" he said.

He reiteriated that CDF should instead be brought back to the county government to be channeled to projects that will benefit mwananchi at the grassrot level.

"If a county under the leadership of the governor can handle over Sh5 billion to run a county,  what of Sh100 million meant for CDF? the money was only used by politicians to drum support during the electioneering period. If brought to the county government, it will be managed well since it will be closely be monitored by county assembly," he said.

He urged counties to ensure that they implement the constitution to the latter by ensuring that they use 30 percent of the revenue for development, while 70 percent on recurrent expenditure as per the Kenya's constitution.
