Kiambu county TNA Coordinator Gladys Chania has questioned the manner in which MPs allied to Jubilee are conducting themselves.

Speaking from her office on Tuesday, Chania said that the acts by the MPs are dubious as they support even the malicious actions and utterances by their fellows.

She added that there is need to understand their mandate and know that they should be representing the members of public who are their constituents instead of politicking around all the time.

Chania noted with concern that Jubilee MPs supported Moses Kuria’s debatable utterances and are now against the opposition member, George Aladwa, who like Kuria, is being accused of hate speech.

The party official has further called upon the legislator to recognise the need for the existence of an opposition party like Cord whose mandate is to oversight the work done by the government.

“They are forcing Cord to be always standing by the government even if they do wrong. There is no democracy without opposition and they are doing their job. Let’s not spend all our time firing back at them,” she said.

She recalled the need to push for service delivery and fulfilling their promises to the people in the grassroots if they want to survive the 2017 elections which she says will be turf as the public has now become wise.
