Speaking during a press briefing on Monday, chemno said that the reason as to why nurses have not been paid is due to the failure by the national government to send money to county governments for them to conduct their duties well such as payment of salaries.

“All county workers have not been paid and the Kenya National Union of Nurses should be patient and the moment the national government will disburse the money their salaries will be paid like yesterday,” he said.

“The union should stop inciting nurses to paralyse services in the county hospitals through a strike to commence on Monday 24," Chemno added.

Chemno urged the Kenya National Union of Nurses officials to embrace dialogue, and should not use threats for their problems to be solved.

“As a county, we welcome dialogue with the nurses’ officials anytime and we ask them to come for us to see how their problems may be solved instead of punishing innocent patients by not attending to them, they should have some mercy,” he added.
