A Mavoko children's centre has sacked all its employees for inefficiency and ineffectiveness in service delivery.
Florence Gitau, the director of Bondeni Children Rescue Centre on Friday told HiviSasa that she had laid off all her core staff who included a project manager, social worker and a matron for failing to deliver.
"I cannot keep the three who have failed to deliver their services, this is a charitable home meant to support destitute children and therefore we cannot keep under-performing staff," said Gitau.
Gitau who spoke at the home said the manager had failed to develop fundraising strategies to help the facility get funds from donors, well wishers and the government.
She says she realised that keeping the workers who were on a monthly pay was a liability to the centre.
"How can I fund raise for supporting both the needy children and the lazy employees who have failed to effectively play their roles in the organisation, that is a big joke," said Gitau.
According to Gitau, getting rid of the employees was an achievement and one way of getting back to the drawing board to ensure the home moves towards meeting its objectives and living within its vision.
