A Chinese national has been arraigned before a Nakuru court over charges of working for a company without a valid work permit.
Hu Yinping was accused of working as a sales lady at Gold October Service on August 26 within Nakuru town.
On a second account, her visa was considered null and void by virtue of her being unlawfully found working.
Through translator Linda Okubasu, Yinping said that she was not employed by that company but only went there to see a friend before she was arrested by the immigration officers.
She was found by the immigration officers working in a tyres shop in Nakuru town, the court heard.
The prosecution applied that Yinping be denied a cash bail since she has no permanent residence in Kenya and might leave the country.
Appearing before principal magistrate Bernard Ndenda, she pleaded not guilty and was told to look a Kenyan surety and Sh300,000 bond.
The case will be heard on October 12 this year.
