A pastor in Kiambu has condemned the proposal saying sex education among primary school children will lead to bad morals in the society.

Speaking on Sunday, Bishop Peter Gachara of Power of Faith Church in Kiambu Town said that sex education for children was a serious disaster and misleading the coming generation. He added that this education will promote immorality among children at a tender age.

He said that sex was only meant for married people and introducing such education will be like telling the children they are of age to engage in it. He added that most churches in Kenya have been a good foundation of schools and they will not allow such actions to be taken.

The bishop stated that the society is the main reason for children's immorality despite them condemning the generation. He added that such behaviours when seen in children, they are assumed to have seen them from their elders.

He advises that the society should change its morals to be a good example for children.

"It's totally out of hand when you introduce such topics to children. Issuing condoms in primary schools is another big way of encouraging early sex which is a sin,’’ said Bishop Gachara.

A parent, Catherine Njeri, said that sex education to children will prove how the society has gone bad. She said that despite the fact that some parents cannot talk to their children on such topics, it should not be a lesson in school as it will make pupils lose focus and start concentrating in immoral activities amongst themselves.
