National Government officers and drivers in Kisii County have been cautioned against misuse of government vehicles and breaching traffic rules.

Kisii County Commissioner Chege Mwangi said government vehicles found in bars at odd hours will be towed and detained in police stations so that responsible officers are disciplined.

He directed Kisii County Police Commandant Samuel Kiraguto to arrest government drivers found misusing and breaking traffic rules to face the full force of the law.

Addressing residents in Suneka over security matters on Monday, Mwangi cautioned the officers against involvement in corruption.

He said those caught engaging in the practice will have themselves to blame themselves while revealing that at least two police and one prisons officer found taking bribes recently lost their jobs.

"The security situation has improved, but the public still needs to continue assisting security agencies by reporting suspected criminals so that they could be arrested and face the law," he said.
