They are believed to be spying as they go round homesteads, planning and allegedly stealing from the people. The recent incident being a student loosing Sh10,000 when she had gone to take a shower before one of the hawkers allegedly entered her house and stole before disappearing.
The landlord James Ondiek warned the hawkers and banned them from hawking in the residential area following an incident last week where a student lost a laptop and other personal belongings.
“This place is out of bounce for non-residents. Report cases of suspicious visitors found here. Your safety is in your hands. For those found colluding with these suspected thieves, legal action will be taken against y them,” warned Ondiek.
“I lost a laptop and my personal belongings on Friday last week after I left for my classes to find the lock to my room broken,” said Joel Otieno, a student.
