Kiambu County has commenced the construction of the Kikuyu and Lari Level 4 Hospitals each with a 200 bed capacity.

The hospitals are set to help decongest other hospitals like Kiambu level four and Thika level five which serve the residents of two counties around Kiambu.

According to the Kiambu County Health Services CeC, Jonah Mwangi, the hospitals are to be constructed with speed as they urgently need another health institution to help subsidise the ones that are already operation in attending to the numerous patients.

Mwangi said that the hospitals are set to be equipped with modern equipments from the Phillips Innovative company which has been supplying the equipment to the other health institutions.

“We have already procured the equipments and they are ready for delivery immediately the hospitals are well furnished and completely constructed,” Mwangi said.

He added, “We are recruiting nurses and medics at the moment as we want to settle this problem of insufficiency of the health workers and practitioners for good by the end of September as promised.”

The CeC, who spoke in Kikuyu when he inspected the ongoing construction, added that they are at the same time increasing the bed capacity of other level four and five hospitals across the county.
