Kisii Central police boss Francis Nguri has challenged Birongo Ward residents to cooperate with the police in the war on crime.
The OCPD noted that crime will reduce significantly if residents cooperate with the police.
At the same time, Nguri gave a police patrol vehicle to help the police intensify their surveillance of the area.
He further asked the public to report any suspicious persons in their midst as one way of combating crime.
“Crime is on the rise here in Birongo Ward. You should work together with the police to reduce such cases,” said the police boss on Sunday at Birongo.
Meanwhile, the OCPD warned criminals in the area that their days were numbered.
Area residents lauded the OCPD for what he did by giving them a vehicle that can help to fight crime.
Birongo MCA Godfferey Nyamache hailed the OCPD for responding to residents pleas to fight crime in the ward.
He also challenged the police to cooperate with residents if the war on crime is to be won.
