The Central Organisation of Trade Union Uasin-Gishu chairperson Peter Odima has warned employers against sexually harassing their employees.

Odima said that most employers take advantage of the state of the workers to seduce them sexually.

"This mostly occurs at homes where house helps are raped by their bosses who take advantage of their poor situation instead of helping them," said Odima.

The chairperson warned that serious action will be taken against those who sexually harass their innocent employees. He further urged those working in different homes and offices to report such incidents to the relevant authority for the necessary action to take its course.

"Many of the victim are afraid of sharing their experiences but I would like to assure you that the law will protect you; come out and let the law deal with the culprits," he said.

He additionally warned employers against delaying the salaries of their workers as it was an infringement of their rights.
