The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has advised county governments to ensure they have representatives in court users committees to deal with legal issues together and learn current legal affairs.
Commissioner Emily Ominde said most county governments don't have representatives in court users committees making it difficult for them to stay abreast with current legal affairs.
She said that there is a need for every county to have representatives in the court committees to cooperate with Kenyan courts adding that counties that are yet to do so should comply.
"Many legal issues that may affect counties are usually thrashed out with court users committees. Whatever is discussed in court users will then require policy decisions to be made and execrated to the national council on administrative justice,” she said.
“We have noticed that in most of court users committees, the county governments are not represented. Let county governments develop policies together with courts,” she added.
She was speaking on Thursday at the Kisii deputy governor Joash Maangi's office who also challenged people to obey and accept court judgments and orders.
“Our county government supports the courts let everybody accept and respect the court orders,” said Maangi.
