Kisumu County government has been faulted for not repairing the main road connecting parts of Maseno town despite calls for its repair.
According to the residents, nothing has been done to date, two years since they raised concerns about the poor road.
The road, which is usually impassable during the rainy season stalls operation of both traders and residents as it is the key entry point to the market and residential area.
"The rains are here again, and this road is still the same. It really pains us that despite our cries nobody from the government responds," said Agnes Wandera, a trader at the market.
She added, "This road is all we have as a key figure to the progression of this town but the county government does not seem to recognise."
Maseno town is key to the growth of our county and it needs all the support needed.
According to the residents, devolution was meant to cater for such issues, but everything is contrary to what they were expecting.
They are calling on the county government to heed their plight before 'it is too late'.
They claimed that investors are shying away from the area due to poor roads in the area.
