Nakuru County has been asked to embrace partnership with Metro World Child organisation which deals with rescuing and nurturing street and abandoned children.
Speaking at the governor's office on Wednesday last week when he paid him a courtesy call, the founder of the organisation Dr Bill Wilson asked Governor Kinuthia Mbugua to support his request.
“We have touched and made a difference in the lives of many children and still want to do more especially in Nakuru County. We want to expand this with the help and partnership of the county government because we know and value the power of partnerships,” said Bill.
Governor Mbugua on his part applauded and welcomed the organisation’s effort in transforming children’s lives.
“If we embrace character building in our children at a young age, I am sure it will be an answer to most of our problems in Nakuru in future. Saving kids who would have gone to waste is a big task that needs to be appreciated,” Mbugua said.
The Metro World Child organisation whose headquarters is in New York is currently helping children in Naivasha, Bahati, Njoro and schools in the former municipality in Nakuru.
They are targeting to expand to more programmes that will also be able to help the families of the children.
Also present were Metro World Child country representative Janine Stellatos, CEC Education Fransis Mathea, MCAs Joseph Korir Langat (Kapkures) and Hillary Kibet Korir (Amalo).
