Residents of  Njunu area in Kiambu have all the reasons to celebrate after the Kiambu county government finally drilled a borehole in the area.

The  borehole is intended to solve the perennial water shortage in Njunu, Kanunga and the neighboring areas.

The area  MCA, Ngugi Uiru on Friday said that more funds will be allocated for the project in order to facilitate  piping of water in surrounding areas where residents have been suffering from water shortage.

A water technician at Kiambu county government, Josphat Ndungu said that the borehole has the potential to produce 20 cubic meters of water, adding that more water tests will be conducted to assure residents of their safety.
