Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno has challenged youths in the county to discover and nurture their talents.
Addressing the public and officials when he flagged off the Inter- County Games at the County Hall Grounds in Eldoret on Monday, Chemno said that there is talent among the youth that needs to be nurtured.
He observed that many youths have talents which have not been discovered, and which if discovered can help them earn descent livelihoods.
“We are telling young people to discover their talents and nurture them so that they can become the future champions in various sectors,” he said.
Chemno noted that through talents, young people can earn descent livelihoods and grow socio-economically.
He asked schools and colleges in the county to nurture talents among students.
“School administrators should give their students enough time to take part in sports and other co-curricular activities so that they can discover their talents,” he said.
Chemno further said that the county government will help in nurturing talents among students.
“The county government has taken various measures including organizing for sports tournaments to nurture young talents,” he said.
The deputy governor asked parents to help their children identify their talents at early ages for easy nurturing.
