The county government of Nyamira has launched a massive renovation of all feeder roads within all the 20 wards with Gesima ward being among the first beneficiaries.

On Saturday, a number Gesima ward roads were launched with area MCA lauding his counterpart from Rigoma, Ben Sironga, who is the chairperson of roads committee, in the county assembly for recommending the exercise to the county executive in charge of roads.

Mr Ken Atuti of Gesima ward said the move was long overdue but called upon residents to be a bit patient by giving the county government humble time to deliver.

“As the area MCA, I want to laud Sironga for pushing our agenda. We would like to see more roads done in the entire county and that is in the plan. As residents, you should give the county government time to deliver because we are working on limited resources,” he said.

Atuti challenged the area MP Timothy Bosire to work hand in hand with residents in a bid to work out on roads that were under jurisdiction of the national government.

“What many people don’t know is that the county has specific roads that it should work on. Some of the roads that you have been complaining about are supposed to be done by the national government through the intervention of the area MP and I urge him to work on it,” he said.

The launch will see Ritibo-Mosobeti-Entorobo roads worked on and Nyabuya-Gesima and Gesima-Nyabogoe roads that have been eliciting debate in the recent past.
