A bodaboda operator sucummed to his wounds this afternoon on his way to hospital after hitting a lorry along Kiambu Road,Thindigwa that had broken down. The lorry had broken down in the middle of the road and the bodaboda operator was overspeeding when he went into the lorry and hit it before residents tried to rush him to hospital. Confirming the incident,Kiambu OCPD SSP Stephen Ng'etich said that the accident was as a result of the cyclist who was overspeeding.He said that the lorry that had broken down had already put the caution sign on the road few metres away to indicate there was a breakdown along the way ahead. He said most bodaboda operators had not been in a driving school hence causing such accidents on the road.He said that some of them didn't obey the orad signs appointing out in the incident that it was a major factor. Ng'etich also said that the rider didn't have any insurance on his bike and also didn't have a helmet.He said such gears help in case of such accidents.He said the operator would have survived if only he observed the traffic rules. "I want to urge road users and especially bodaboda operators to observe rules on the road.Use of helmet,reflector and also licences," said Ng'etich. He said such accidents would be avoided if only operators obeyed traffic rules.The body of the deceased was later taken to Kiambu Hospital District Mortuary
