Kiambu County deputy governor Gerald Githinji has called on more entrepreneurs to invest in the county to foster development.
Githinji said the county government has created an enabling environment for investment by formulating policies and setting up institutional structures to enable investors do their work without challenges.
He said the local investment sector was central to development, and offers tremendous opportunities in employment creation in the county.
“We will continue to create an enabling business environment and institutional structures that are conducive to local industries which are geared towards improving the policy framework for the local sector,” he said.
He added that the county government will continue to support local investments to unlock their potential.
Githinji revealed that plans are in the pipeline to involve the county's residents in improving the county's economy.
He spoke on Monday during the official opening of the Sh7 billion Devki Iron Sheets Factory in Ruiru Sub-County.
The chief guest was Industrialisation Cabinet Secretary Adan Mohamed. Ruiru MP Esther Gathogo was also present.
