Police officers reporting on duty under the influence of alcohol have been warned of punitive disciplinary measures.
Speaking in Naivasha on Thursday, Nakuru County Commissioner, Joshua Nkanatha noted that as law enforcers need to set an example to the locals.
He called on residents to volunteer information about such rouge officers to help streamline the force.
"Drinking is leisure and mixing leisure time and work time is totally unprofessional and unacceptable in the police force," he warned.
Nkanatha who is the incoming County Commssioner after recent senior police officers reshuffle by the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has vowed to bring sanity and order within the ranks in Nakuru.
In June, police in Bahati were on the spotlight after a female officer was forced to disarm her colleague for being drunk and disorderly.
In his words after meeting governor Kinuthia Mbugua on Wednesday, Nkanatha expressed his commitment in ensuring a safe and crime free County.
