Primary schools in Kitutu Masaba constituency are the latest to benefit from books donation program spearheaded by a parliamentary aspirant from the neighbouring Borabu constituency.

On Wednesday, Dr Nyandoro Kambi Foundation took its book distribution activities to Nyaronge Primary School with the exercise expected to cover parts of Gesima, Rigoma and Gachuba wards.

The foundation’s proprietor, Dr Nyandoro Kambi, said the foundation was not limited to Borabu constituency as pundits had indicated in both the press and social media.

He said the donations had nothing to do with his aspirations of the parliamentary seat and urged teachers to work extra to guide children to better students' performances in national exams.

“This is a foundation with an objective of having an educated young population in Nyamira County. I will reach all four constituencies because we don’t gamble with matters education. Our schools have to be equipped with learning materials and it's now upon teachers to impart knowledge to the learners using the books we are distributing,” he said.

He cautioned parents against politicising cooperate social responsibility activities but insisted need for change in leadership in the county.

“When we donate learning materials people have a tendency of associating them with political interests. Politics come after we help the society. It is not a matter of do or die to win an election since it cannot affect my desire to have a better Nyamira. And a better Nyamira means challenging leadership by kicking out non-performing individuals,” he added.

During the exercise, the institution received several revision books, story books and geometrical sets for class eight candidates.
