The county director culture, Obino Nyambane has challenged all the county education stakeholders to support talent growth in schools.
Speaking today during the Kisii County Music festivals final at Kisii Primary school, he took teachers to task so as to promote not only academic performance in schools but also talents nurturing and growth.
Music teachers and heads of schools in the county are to embrace and uphold the talents as they form the basis in the primary education before they are nurtured and hence exploited for the benefit not only for an individual but community and national even to international levels.
“Primary school teachers must at all costs help us identify talents in our pupils and try to nurture them before other people can be able to see the talents as we are witnessing them here,'' the county Culture director noted.
He also said the county government is doing its best in educating the boy and girl child with no bias for a better generation and great county to admire if future.
He said that keeping the Gusii culture was the most admirable thing he noted in this year’s music festivals, he said we should not shy away from the Gusii culture to perform other people`s culture.
“let us give credit that the Gusii culture this time has been exploited and well presented and I wish that we do the same and even much better to giving back to our own culture, have seen a number of presentation dating back to my time in primary school era which is a positive thing,'' Obino said.
He wishes all the top performer success as they proceed to the great Lake region competition sometime in July promising to be with them as they travel to Migori.
The lake region music festival competitions shall be held in Migori Teachers training College.
