Eldoret West Sub-County Commissioner Christopher Wanjau has put on notice criminals allegedly wreaking havoc in some parts of the sub-county.

Speaking to journalists from his office on Wednesday, Wanjau said that law enforcers have put in place mechanisms to weed out criminals and guarantee security of citizens. He said that the law will not spare the criminals.

Wanjau warned that criminals will be dealt with ruthlessly adding that 24-hour security patrols are being mounted by the police.

“We have put in place proper mechanisms that will help us (police) fight criminals and other elements that threatens peace,” he said.

Wanjau warned criminals gangs telling them to surrender before the long arm of the government get them. He said that police will use every means available to get rid of criminals and their sympathisers.

He also urged residents to continue working with the police. He said that the relationship between law enforcers and members of the public has improved.

“We are happy that members of the public are giving tip-offs on the whereabouts of suspected criminals,” he said.

Wanjau said that the area will be a free crime zone if the police and the public work together.
