Kiambu County Women Representative Anna Nyokabi has urged elected women leaders to be supportive of their fellow women in government leadership positions.
Speaking on Monday night during an interview on Television Cosmopolitan, Gatheca noted that elected women leaders have not been as supportive to their colleagues in government positions as they should be.
"I do not agree with the saying that women are their own worst enemy. What we lack is a common stand and voice. This makes men take advantage and gang up against us," said Nyokabi.
She cited recent scenarios where performing women leaders have either been removed from office or prevented from holding positions on flimsy grounds saying it is because they lacked other women's support.
Gatheca further noted that Kenyan women have shown and proved that they are up to task and can be entrusted with running major affairs of the country.
"A Kenyan woman in the 21st century can do almost all the tasks that a man can do if not all. We therefore need to be given our space to do what we do best," she said.
