Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno has urged county workers to embrace dialogue and address their grievances directly to the county government.

Speaking to journalists on Wednesday at his office, Chemno said the county government will listen to all the issues raised by county workers, adding that the county has put in place proper communication channels, which he encouraged aggrieved workers to use in forwarding their complaints and issues.

Chemno said that accusations and mind games will not help in addressing the issues raised by workers.

“Uasin Gishu county workers should use the channels we have put in place to raise their grievances,” he said.

The Deputy Governor further said that every worker has a right to present his or her grievances and also has the right to be heard.

Chemno also challenged workers’ unions to work with the county government so that members’ concerns are addressed on time.

“Some of the grievances raised by workers are often presented late, making it hard for the government to follow up and provide immediate solutions, but the government is committed to cater for the rights and welfare of workers in the county,” he dded.

Chemno spoke as county nurses cancelled the planned strike after reaching an agreement with the county government.
