Experts in different fields hailing from Nyamira County have been urged to work closely with the county government to achieve development.
County governor John Nyagarama on Sunday called upon the professionals to give back to the society by working with county government in their respective areas to spur growth.
Mr Nyagarama said many professionals were engaging in persistent criticism on the county’s fiscal plan without offering alternatives for the sake of ordinary citizens from the county.
“Professionals are integral part of the development in the community. I have always invited them not once but few are willing to share their ideas for prosperity in our county. They are always welcome to give expert advice instead of ganging with my political critics to persistently question our fiscal and developmental policies without giving alternatives,” he said during a tour at Makairo.
The Nyamira county boss said all citizens were free to share with officials from the county government to handle most pressing issues that affects them directly.
“We are not perfect and that is why we are all human beings. I am a weak creature and I therefore need support for the common good. My government is always ready to get views from the general public in compliance with the constitution. Let us all feel free to share with officials on matters that we think are fundamental and pressing,” he added.
He faulted a some experts for allegedly failing to give their input to the county despite having invited them on a number of occasions.
“I have always tried to reach some experts but all they do is to turn the offers down with no clear excuses. Some are not always ready to help us approach contemporary challenges that we are facing,” he claimed.
