A woman was on Tuesday been remanded in custody for pretending to be a laboratory technologist in a health institution.
Agnes Mumbi appeared before Thika Principal Magistrate, Stephen Mbugi charged that on August 17, this year, at Uzima Health care, in Thika, Kiambu county she was found acting as a medical laboratory technician.
The court heard that the accused had not been registered by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB) as required by law.
The Magistrate ordered she be remanded in custody for failing to raise Sh100,000 bond with surety of similar amount.
She fixed the hearing on October 21, this year. In the same court three men have been remanded in custody for robbery.
Martin Ndung’u, Alex Nguyai, and Moses Muraya were charged that on August 16, this year at Majengo slums in Thika, jointly with others not before court, they robbed Beatrice Mwende.
They robbed Mwende of her Samsung mobile phone valued at Sh5500, a wallet with NSSF card, Equity bank ATM and NHIF card. The court also heard that at the time of robbery they caused actual bodily harm to her.
The Magistrate ordered they be remanded in custody for failing to raise Sh300,000 bond and surety of similar amount. The case will be heard on October 22, this year.
