Over forty-eight families from Gachororo in Juja Sub-County have benefited from free, treated mosquito nets.

The nets were donated to help protect families from malaria during El~Nino rains.

George Koimburi who gave the nets said there is need to reduce the deaths brought about by mosquitoes in the area where stagnant water floods due to lack of good drainage systems.

Koimburi challenged residents to use the nets for intended purposes to ensure they are protected from malaria-causing parasites. He added that some of the beneficiaries in other areas have been selling the nets instead of using them to protect themselves.

Koimburi said the area has been lagging behind in development due to poor leadership.
