Farmers across the vast Rift valley region have been urged to practice conservation farming for better results.
Speaking in Nakuru On Tuesday, the regional coordinator for the Philipines Association for Intercultural Development(PAFID) Ms. Rose Omoto said conservation farming has been embraced across the world and so the Kenyan farmers should follow suit.
Omoto adivised farmers to practice it if they expect to continue getting the best results from their farms.
"If you want best result, practice conservation farming and you will never leave it," affirmed Omoto.
Ms. Omoto said that the project has succeeded in Machakos and Makueni counties.
William Mwanzia a farmer in Machakos said that he reaped a good harvest last season after practising this type of farming and so he would like to encourage other farmers to practise it as well.
"Last season, i got good results from my farm after switching to conservation farming. It was previously almost producing nothing," said Mwanzia.
