A middle aged man was today, Monday, arraigned in a Kiambu Law court for allegedly defiling his disabled child in Ting’ang’a, Kiambu sub county.

The prosecution desk told the court that the accused person, Patrick Kinyanjui was arrested by police from Ting’ang’a police post after reports that he was defiling his 12 year old disabled daughter.

The father, who was living with the girl after her mother died two years ago, is said to have been defiling the girl for a long time before his arrest.

The girl is physically disabled and uses a wheelchair, and schools at the Hope for the physically disabled school in Kiambu town.

The prosecution explained that the daughter reported the incident to her class teacher after she had been traumatised for a while.

The court further heard that the teacher, Nancy Mwaitale went and reported the incident to the headteacher, who went to Tng’an’ga police post and reported the incident.

Police went to the accused’s house, where they arrested him and took him to Kiambu Police station.

Kinyanjui pleaded not guilty and the Principal Magistrate, Diana Mochache adjourned the case for a hearing on the June 30, 2015.

However she issued the accused a cash bail of Sh1 million or a bond of worth the same amount.
