A Naivasha court has condemned a father to life imprisonment after finding him guilty of defiling his own 15-year-old daughter.
Atunga, 35, had denied committing the offence on July 18 at the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute Estate in Naivasha town.
The prosecution told the court that on the material day, Atunga had arrived home and called his daughter to his bedroom.
He told her openly that he wanted to have sex with her.
Shocked by her father's unexpected demand, the minor declined and attempted to get out of the bedroom but Atunga forcefully grabbed and threw her on top of the bed, undressed her and went ahead to defile her while covering her mouth with one hand.
The court heard that his wife returned home and caught Atunga in the act.
She took her daughter to Naivasha hospital after which she reported the matter to Naivasha Police Station.
