A father of a boy charged with defilement two years ago on Tuesday withdrew his title deed that he had placed as an a surety bond.
John Kinyariro told the court that he was no longer in a position to trust his son who went missing and failed to attend court sessions.
His son Eluid Gachibi, faced by charges of defilement on February 2, 2013 fled and failed to attend hearing sessions until he was issued with arrest warrant and his father summoned.
On February 3, 2013 Gachibi pleaded before Senior Principle Magistrate Stephen Wambua and was released on Sh200, 000 bond which his father placed a title deed.
“I no longer trust him after he fled to Ol Kalau, I personally went there and look for him, now I want to withdraw my surety that I placed on him, I want to take my title deed,” Said Kinyariro.
Gachibi denied the allegations that he fled by saying that he had gone for a short journey to Ol Kalou and he did not know he was wanted by the court
Principle Magistrate Bernard Ndenda ordered that the title deed be returned to him and his son remanded until the case resumes.
The case will be mentioned on September 1.
