Five teenagers were on Monday arrested by police in Kikuyu after they were found drinking alcohol in local pub in Zambezi.
Kikuyu OCPD Mr Mutune Maweu speaking in his office on Monday said police raided the pub after some residents tipped them that it was operating as early as from 9am but the door remained locked from inside.
He said police went in and found teenagers aged between 15 and 17 drinking alcohol. They were all arrested. The owner was also arrested for operating before time and also admitting minors.
The police boss said that they will all face the law. He said police in the area are going to ensure such cases come to an end.
However he said that police are working closely with the liqour licencing committee adding when such owners are arrested for such offences their licences will be revoked.
"The issue of admitting minors has been a warning for quite sometime and now anyone arrested admitting minors in his pub will have their licences revoked," said Maweu.
He said that should be a warning to all bar operators and they should ensure they don't risk their licences revoked for that.
He stated that greed for money was the main problem leading to such offences stating that it will have to come to an end.
Maweu stated that minors should not be allowed in any bar and also warned parents who have a tendency of going for drinking spree with their children or also sending them in liqour shops to buy them drinks that they shall be arrested as they promote the crime.
