A Zimbabwe national who was arrested last week for assault and being in the country illegally was on Monday denied bail by a Kisumu court.

Ncube denied both charges of assault and being in the country illegally.
Chief Magistrate Esther Maina said that the prosecution had convinced the court enough for their reasons to have the accused remanded in custody.
According to the prosecution Ncube was arrested in Manyatta Kisumu on the July 24 after assaulting a local boda boda operator over an unknown issue.
Upon his arrest, Ncube failed to produce his identification by telling the police he had none, because he was from Zimbabwe.
