Former Kitutu Masaba Member of Parliament has sent shock waves among area residents after threatening to hang himself if he loses to incumbent legislator Timothy Bosire in 2017 polls.
Speaking on Tuesday morning at a requiem mass of Mama Sabina Abuya (wife to former MP Abuya Abuya), Walter Nyambati said he was confident of a victory given his previous record in Kitutu Masaba and slammed the incumbent, labeling him "a political loser".
He said he will not accept any outcome if IEBC does not declare him a winner and gave an alternative of strangling himself as a way of protesting.
“I have walked across Kitutu Masaba and the mood is very clear. I have majority support compared to Timothy Bosire. I dare IEBC not to declare me a winner because even a toddler can see that as early as this. I will take a rope and hang myself if I lose the elections,” he said.
According to him, the current legislator was riding on projects which he had launched and accused him of re-launching the same projects to gain political mileage.
“I have a good reason to hang myself because he (Mr Bosire) has never launched a mega project. He is full of discrimination and he directs that to my perceived supporters. Majority of projects that I started like water and roads across Bogetutu have been re-launched and he has not mentioned where the initial money we had set aside went to,” he insisted.
Mr Nyambati, who currently chairs Jomo Kenyatta Foundation emerged third in 2013 polls behind Mr Bosire and city lawyer Shadrack Mose respectively.
