Four men suspected to have been carrying out a series of theft and attacks against the public and Juja businesspeople have been arrested.
Ruiru OCPD Isaac Thuranira said that together with police officers and community policy personnel they have been tracking the four after a tip from the public last week.
“We have arrested four suspects who have been stealing from the residents of Juja and Ruiru. We have been working with the officers from Juja and Ruiru police stations and we made the arrest in one of the rented house in the Kenyatta road,” the officer said this morning.
Three of the suspects were arrested while sleeping at around 9pm last night in a residential house where they are believed to be conducting their illegal activities from.
Property worth more than Sh100,000 was recovered from the room. The police who have been following them said that the three had been sleeping all day while the other was caught while surveying a shop in Juja town at the same time.
Twelve rolls of bhang were also recovered from the house and according to the OCPD, the suspects might have been using another house for storing other stolen property and the police are on the ground investigating as they interrogate them.
The four are being held at Ruiru police station for interrogation and they will be arraigned in court once the officers have gathered enough evidence against tem.
The suspects have also been linked to the murder of a Juja businessman who was found lying in a hotel room on Friday morning.
Meanwhile, the residents have been called upon to avail themselves so as to identify the property retrieved from the suspected thieves.
