Chiefs in Ruiru Sub-County have been told to ensure that Constituency Development Fund (CDF) is well utilised in enhancing of developments in the community.
Ruiru MP Esther Gathogo reminded the administrators that CDF were public funds and every effort should not be spared to ensure that the funds were utilised transparently.
Gathogo made the remarks while addressing the residents of her area on Monday at Biashara location chief’s camp.
She urged the youths in the area to shun from political violence and condemned a recent attack on an MCA seat aspirant.
The aspirant was attacked at night by people chanting songs and hurling insults to her after breaking a steel gate to gain access into her compound and left her nursing minor injuries after threatening her to relocate from the area or else face them.
The legislator said that over the weekend, youths in Thika heckled their leaders’ rivals and it was unfortunate that only youth are being used by politicians in their fights are given little money.
She further said that the CDF is meant to support every resident and called on them to apply for the funds.
