A men's group at Kiamwangi in Gatundu South has asked the government to consider creating a fund for men.
The chairman of the Nginduri Midland Group, Davis Ahanyi said that the government has sidelined them by concentrating on women and the youth who already have their own fund.
"Men have been left to take care of themselves despite the fact that they are the pillars of their own families. We request the government to also create a fund for us," said Ahanyi.
The group's Secretary General Joseph Gitau said that men have also been facing financial challenges and a fund for them would be a major "facelift".
"Lack of money by many men has led them to be desperate and this does not reflect well on them to their children. We are not able to set a good example to them," Gitau said.
Gatundu South CDF Chairman Robert Githongo who is also a member of the group asked both the county and the national governments to create a fund for men.
"Men no longer have the money they used to have and it is the high time they also gave us a fund. The youth will soon be past that stage. What will be next for them if there will be no fund for them?" asked Githongo.
